Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Semi-Truck & Trailer Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty trucks and trailers to ensure they operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills, basic hand tools, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship. Pay scale is dependent on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on semi-trucks and trailers. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and equipment. Repair or replace defective parts, including brakes, suspension, tires, lighting, and coupling systems. Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards. Maintain accurate service records and documentation of repairs. Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles safely. Provide excellent customer service, explaining repairs and recommendations clearly. Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in diesel mechanics preferred. Proven experience as a heavy-duty truck and trailer mechanic. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, and trailer components. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Proficient with diagnostic software and repair tools. Valid driver's license (CDL a plus). Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Must have basic hand tools. Ability to complete alignments is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Comfortable working in various weather conditions. Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
Work Schedule & Compensation:
Full-time position; schedule may include evenings or weekends as needed. Competitive hourly rate depending on experience level. Company vehicle for service calls. Uniforms and safety gear provided. Health, dental, and retirement benefits. Advancement opportunity available.
