Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Trailer Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty trailers and equipment. In this energetic role, you will diagnose, service, and repair trailers to ensure optimal safety, performance, and compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will keep our fleet moving smoothly, supporting our commitment to reliable transportation solutions. We are looking for a motivated professional with a passion for heavy equipment maintenance and a keen eye for detail to deliver top-notch service every day. Duties Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on trailers, including brake systems, suspensions, air brakes, hydraulics, and electrical components. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently. Conduct fabrication tasks such as welding, metal fabrication, and assembly of trailer parts or modifications as needed. Maintain and repair heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery to ensure safety and operational readiness. Use power tools, hand tools, soldering equipment, and welding apparatus to execute repairs with precision. Conduct preventive maintenance on trailers and heavy machinery to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan. Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and comply with industry regulations; document all work performed accurately. Skills Proven dealership experience or extensive background in automotive or heavy equipment repair. Strong mechanical knowledge of transmissions, diesel engines, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, tires, brakes, and suspension systems. Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic systems. Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication tools for repairs and assembly. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures including tire service, alignment, air brake systems, and HVAC repairs. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining high-quality workmanship; excellent customer service skills are a plus.
