Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented General Service Technician - State Inspector to join our dynamic automotive team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing essential vehicle maintenance and safety inspections in accordance with state regulations. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive state vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with all safety and emissions standards Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, alignments, and brake inspections Utilize hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve mechanical issues Assist with vehicle repairs including engine diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and component replacements Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair needs and maintenance procedures clearly Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and service history for each vehicle Support the dealership's maintenance operations by performing general service tasks as needed Experience Dealership experience or automotive service background preferred Proven mechanic experience with a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and mechanical systems Hands-on experience with vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, and alignments Familiarity with automotive repair tools, hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment Customer service experience in an automotive or retail setting is advantageous Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work efficiently in a physically demanding environment Knowledge of state inspection procedures and regulatory requirements is a plus
