Job Description

Arthur Payne & Sons is a specialty automotive shop serving a unique clientele of collectors and enthusiasts. We work on vintage vehicles that require experienced, independent technicians. We are currently expanding our team due to a recent staffing change and are seeking one or two qualified technicians to join our shop. We're open to a range of experience levels — including a strong secondary technician looking to grow into more independent, specialty work alongside a senior team. Our team has experience across a range of specialty and motorsport backgrounds, including endurance racing, professional race series support, and Bonneville record holders. We are looking for technicians who bring a similar level of skill and reliability.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of specialty and collector vehicles across multiple makes Perform full mechanical service and repair work, not limited to routine maintenance Work independently to resolve mechanical issues that may not be covered by standard documentation Collaborate with a small, experienced technical team Actively track and organize parts during full restorations to achieve the 100-point standard our customers demand
Qualifications:
Strong mechanical background across multiple vehicle makes; brand specialization is welcomed but not required Experience with older or non-standard vehicle systems is a plus Strong experience with older European cars and systems is preferred Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues independently, with minimal supervision Relevant certifications, dealership experience, race team experience, or equivalent hands-on background is a plus Restoration experience is a plus Strong work ethic and professionalism is required
What We Offer:
4-day work week — Monday through Thursday, 10-hour days. Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays off, every week No two days look the same — every vehicle that comes through our doors is a new problem to solve, not a repeat of yesterday's job Real variety of work — you won't spend your career doing the same three repairs on the same handful of models The kind of hands-on challenges that keep skilled technicians engaged instead of burned out Work that actually uses everything you know, instead of being boxed into one system or one brand A shop built around technicians who take pride in solving problems other shops walk away from Room to build a reputation as someone who can handle what others can't A small, experienced team where your skill is recognized, not lost in a crowd
Pay:
From $28.50 per hour
Work Location:
In person
