The General Mechanic functions as a skilled-level technician responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical issues on a variety of vehicle makes and models. The ideal candidate is experienced, detail-oriented, and committed to providing quality automotive repair services. Duties and Responsibilities Perform repairs and maintenance as outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately.
Diagnose the cause of vehicle malfunctions and complete necessary repairs.
Provide accurate estimates regarding cost, time, and labor required for repairs and maintenance.
Inspect assigned vehicles to identify additional safety or service recommendations.
Document all work performed and recommendations on repair orders.
Assist in supervising and mentoring apprentice technicians as assigned.
Report equipment defects or malfunctions to management.
Ensure customer vehicles are kept clean and notify management of any changes in vehicle conditions.
Maintain a clean and organized shop environment.
Properly maintain and care for shop-owned tools and equipment.
Operate all tools and equipment safely.
Report safety concerns immediately to management.
Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Must be 21 years of age or older.
Minimum of two (2) years of automotive repair experience.
ASE Certification preferred but not required.
Valid driver's license preferred. Pay Starting at $500+ per week, depending on hours worked, certifications, and experience. Schedule Scheduled hours may vary.
