The Service Advisor is responsible for creating an exceptional customer experience while helping customers understand their vehicle's maintenance and repair needs. The ideal candidate is professional, dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced automotive environment. Strong communication and sales skills are essential, along with a genuine interest in helping customers keep their vehicles safe and reliable. Key Responsibilities Greet customers promptly and provide friendly, professional service. Listen to customers' concerns and accurately document vehicle symptoms and service needs. Recommend appropriate maintenance and repair services based on vehicle condition and manufacturer recommendations. Prepare accurate estimates and explain recommended services, pricing, and timelines to customers. Communicate with technicians to ensure customer concerns are properly diagnosed and addressed. Keep customers informed about the progress of their vehicle throughout the service process. Obtain customer authorization before performing additional repairs or services. Review completed work with customers and explain repairs performed. Maintain strong customer relationships and encourage repeat business. Follow up with customers regarding recommended services and future maintenance needs. Assist with scheduling appointments and managing the daily workflow of the shop. Maintain accurate customer and vehicle records. Help achieve shop sales, customer satisfaction, and profitability goals. Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and applicable automotive regulations. Qualifications Previous automotive service advisor, service writer, customer service, or automotive experience preferred. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to explain automotive repairs and maintenance in an easy-to-understand manner. Comfortable making service recommendations and discussing pricing with customers. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to multitask in a busy shop environment. Basic computer skills and ability to learn automotive shop-management software. Professional appearance and positive attitude. Valid driver's license. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in an automotive repair facility or dealership. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and common automotive repairs. Experience with estimating, invoicing, or shop-management systems. Proven sales or upselling experience. Physical & Work Environment This position operates primarily in an automotive repair shop and customer service area. The Service Advisor may occasionally need to move throughout the shop and interact with technicians and vehicles. The role requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in a potentially noisy automotive environment.
