This position plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our transportation and support operations. Primary Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, inspections, and repairs on district vehicles and equipment Diagnose and repair gasoline and diesel engine systems Maintain brake, suspension, steering, electrical, HVAC, hydraulic, and fuel systems Conduct vehicle inspections and prepare vehicles for state inspections Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records Assist with emergency roadside repairs as needed Follow all district safety procedures and applicable regulations Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED Valid Texas CDL with appropriate endorsements Two years of mechanic or related vehicle maintenance experience Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and use diagnostic equipment Preferred ASE certifications State inspection certification Experience working with buses, trucks, or fleet vehicles
