- Job Summary The Truck Mechanic I tunes automotive vehicle engines after Service Writer inspection to ensure efficient operation and compliance by performing the following duties.
Key measures of success include:
- Be recognized by team, peers, and management as a key supporter
- Identifies and resolves problems/tasks in a timely manner
- Follows instructions, responds to management directions
Responsibilities:
Inspects, adjusts, and repairs trucks with minor to major problems- Ensures equipment is functioning properly and within Department of Transportation compliance
- Troubleshoots electrical/mechanical malfunctions on water pumps, switches, lighting circuits, control valves, relief valves, and other items
- Performs light maintenance such as repairing or replacing marker lights or windshield wipers
- Repairs/replaces tires, wheel bearings and seals
- Changes fluids and filters as necessary
- Adjusts brakes for proper function
- Inspects and cleans parts; submits orders if part must be replaced
- Confirms proper function of equipment and truck after maintenance
- Assists Shop Manager with other functions as needed
- Participate in the rotating on-call schedule and be available every 3rd week of the month, Monday thru Sunday 24/7 Qualifications
- Valid drivers license
