Altitude Auto Detail is a mobile detailing company based in Farmington. We drive to the customer and detail their car, truck or SUV in their driveway. Interiors, exteriors, full details and ceramic coatings. The owner still does most of the work himself and is hiring the first technician to keep up with bookings. What the job is

• Two to three details a day with the owner, then on your own as you get good.
• Vacuum, shampoo, steam, clay, polish, protect. Every job finished to the same standard.
• Load and unload the rig, keep it stocked and clean.
• Be on time, be straight with customers, take photos of your work.

Pay $16 an hour while you train with the owner, about 60 days. Then $17 an hour plus 5% of every job you run on your own. A regular detail runs about $286 and takes two to three hours. A ceramic coating is $850 to $1,000 and takes a full day; once you are certified on coating you get $18 an hour plus 10% of every coating. Tips are yours. Paid every two weeks. Most techs land between $20 and $26 an hour once they are on their own, and the top end is higher on coating days. You need

• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• To be able to work outside all day, bend, kneel and lift 40 lb.
• To show up when you say you will.
• Detailing experience helps.
