Food Truck Team Member - Cashier & Customer Service The Happy Chick Salt Lake City, UT Job Details Part-time | Seasonal | Full-time From $12 an hour 18 hours ago Benefits Paid training Employee discount Flexible schedule Food provided Qualifications Customer communication Stocking Event customer service Full Job Description Food Truck Team Member - Cashier & Customer Service The Happy Chick | Salt Lake City, UT The Happy Chick is a 100% gluten-free food truck and kitchen serving customers throughout the Salt Lake Valley at farmers markets, corporate lunches, community events, festivals, and private events. We're looking for a friendly, dependable, and hardworking person to join our team. Schedule We are currently looking for someone to start part-time, primarily working morning and daytime shifts. Hours will vary depending on our event schedule and business needs. This position has the potential to grow into significantly more hours as you become trained and our schedule requires additional help. Some busy weeks may offer up to 40 hours. Because we operate a food truck, our schedule and work locations change depending on the events we're attending. Applicants with flexible availability will have the greatest opportunity for additional hours. Primary Role — Register & Service Window Your primary responsibility will be working our register and service window. You'll be responsible for: Greeting customers and providing friendly customer service Taking orders accurately Operating our Clover POS/register Handling cash and card transactions Answering basic menu questions Communicating clearly with the kitchen Preparing drinks Helping fulfill and hand out orders Keeping the service window and front area clean and organized Staying friendly, accurate, and organized during busy rushes Customer service is extremely important to us. You will often be the first person our customers interact with, so we're looking for someone who is welcoming, patient, professional, and comfortable talking to people. Everyone Learns Every Station Although register/window will be your primary station, we do not hire for register-only positions. The Happy Chick operates with a small team, so everyone helps wherever they're needed. You will gradually be trained on our other stations and responsibilities, including: Order fulfillment and packaging Sandwich and wrap preparation Desserts Fryer station Chicken and food preparation Sauces and lemonade preparation Restocking Cleaning and sanitation Kitchen/commissary prep Event setup and breakdown General food truck operations You don't need to know everything when you start. We will train you. What matters most is that you're willing to learn and help the team. What We Expect We're looking for someone who: Shows up on time and ready to work Is dependable and communicates if an issue comes up Has a positive attitude with customers and coworkers Can work quickly without sacrificing accuracy Is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Is willing to learn every station Takes cleanliness and food safety seriously Can follow instructions and established procedures Helps teammates instead of standing around when their station is slow Is comfortable being on their feet for most of a shift Is willing to clean, restock, prep, and help with closing duties Can adapt to different event locations and schedules Previous cashier, restaurant, food truck, customer service, fryer, or kitchen experience is a plus, but we're willing to train the right person. Travel & Event Locations This is a mobile food truck position, so you will not always report to the same event location. Most of our work is throughout the Salt Lake Valley, but some events may be in surrounding cities and occasionally require travel of up to approximately one hour. For certain events, employees may be able to ride/carpool with the food truck and team rather than driving separately. Employee Perks
