+ Employee Ownership Heavy-Duty Truck & Trailer Mechanics Utah Tank & Trailer - Employee-Owned Company Position Summary Utah Tank & Trailer is hiring Heavy-Duty Truck & Trailer Mechanics for day and night shifts. Pay ranges $20-$45/hr., plus night shift differential and monthly performance bonuses. As an employee-owned company, you'll share in our success through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and inspecting heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and related equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, and repair Class 8 tractors and heavy-duty trailers.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and scheduled services.
• Diagnose and repair air brake systems, ABS, electrical systems, suspension systems, steering components, wheel ends, and driveline components.
• Troubleshoot diesel engine, emissions, and electronic control system concerns as applicable.
• Inspect, repair, and replace brakes, hubs, bearings, seals, suspension components, and related equipment.
• Diagnose and repair trailer pneumatic, electrical, ABS, and lighting systems.
• Use electronic diagnostic equipment, OEM software, electrical meters, and other diagnostic tools.
• Perform DOT inspections and identify safety or compliance-related defects.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, air system schematics, service manuals, and manufacturer repair procedures.
• Accurately document inspections, repairs, parts used, and labor performed.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Follow company safety policies and established repair procedures.
• Communicate effectively with service advisors, supervisors, parts personnel, and other technicians.
• Perform additional duties as assigned based on shop and customer needs. Required Qualifications
• Experience servicing or repairing Class 8 trucks, heavy-duty trailers, or similar commercial equipment preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Working knowledge of heavy-duty air brake systems.
• Ability to diagnose electrical and electronic systems.
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment, electrical meters, and service information.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Ability to safely operate shop equipment, power tools, and lifting equipment.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Must provide basic mechanic hand tools appropriate for the position. Preferred Qualifications
• Class A CDL.
• ASE, TIA, OEM, or other applicable industry certifications.
• DOT Inspector qualification.
• Experience with tank trailers, pneumatic trailers, hydraulic systems, or other specialized commercial equipment.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Experience with Cummins, Detroit, PACCAR, Volvo/Mack, or Caterpillar systems.
• Advanced electrical and diagnostic experience. Essential Physical Requirements The employee must be able to safely perform the physical functions associated with heavy-duty truck and trailer repair, including:
• Regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, push, and pull.
• Work underneath, inside, on top of, and around trucks and trailers.
• Safely climb ladders, steps, and vehicle access points.
• Frequently lift and carry parts, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally handle heavier components with appropriate assistance or lifting equipment.
• Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop machinery.
• Maintain sufficient manual dexterity to perform mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Work for extended periods in standing, kneeling, crouching, or overhead positions.
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
• Safely work around moving equipment, compressed air systems, electrical systems, chemicals, oils, fuels, and other typical heavy-duty shop conditions.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Compensation
