We're looking for a General Service Technician who has professional experience working on vehicles, takes pride in doing good work, and wants the opportunity to continue developing their skills in a full-service automotive shop. About the Role As a General Service Technician, you'll perform routine maintenance and common repair work on a wide range of customer vehicles. You'll spend much of your time performing services such as oil changes, brake work, tire services, inspections, and other general maintenance and repairs. This isn't an entry-level position, but you don't need to be an advanced diagnostic technician or have ASE certifications. We're looking for someone who already has a solid foundation in automotive service, can reliably handle routine work, knows when to ask for help, and is interested in learning from more experienced technicians as their skills grow. What You'll Do Perform oil changes and other routine vehicle maintenance. Inspect, service, and replace brakes and related components. Perform tire rotations, replacements, balancing, and other tire services. Replace batteries, filters, bulbs, wiper blades, belts, and other common maintenance items. Perform vehicle inspections and identify visible maintenance or safety concerns. Complete general mechanical repairs appropriate to your experience and ability. Use shop equipment, tools, and service information safely and correctly. Clearly document work performed and any issues identified during service. Communicate with team members when additional diagnosis or repair may be needed. Check completed work to help ensure vehicles are ready to be safely returned to customers. Keep your work area, tools, and shop equipment clean and organized. Help out wherever needed and contribute to a positive, team-oriented shop environment. Learn new skills and take on more complex maintenance and repair work as your experience grows. What We're Looking For Previous professional automotive service experience. Experience in a quick-lube, tire shop, dealership, independent repair shop, or similar environment is a good fit. Comfortable performing routine maintenance and general service work independently. Basic working knowledge of automotive systems and components. Familiarity with common automotive hand tools and shop equipment. Good attention to detail and a commitment to doing the job correctly. Willingness to learn, take direction, and ask questions when you're unsure. Dependable, hardworking, and able to work well as part of a team. A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to perform the physical requirements of automotive service work, including standing, bending, lifting, and working around vehicles and shop equipment. $18.50 - $28.50 per hour
