Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Underground Power Technician/Laborer to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground electrical power distribution systems. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals interested in building a career in the underground utility and power construction industry. Key Responsibilities Assist with the installation of conduits, duct banks, cable vaults, handholes, and other underground infrastructure. Pull, place, and secure underground electrical cables under the direction of qualified personnel. Perform site preparation, restoration, grading, and cleanup activities. Assist equipment operators, linemen, technicians, and other field personnel. Follow project plans, utility specifications, work instructions, and safety procedures. Operate and use basic hand tools and equipment as directed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all required safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Participate in safety meetings, training, and other required programs. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous utility, construction, or underground utility experience is a plus. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to perform physically demanding work and lift up to 50 pounds. Valid driver's license preferred. Basic knowledge of hand tools and construction equipment. Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork. Willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a field crew. Required Skills Ability to understand and follow work instructions and safety procedures. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Good attention to detail and situational awareness. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting. Ability to work on uneven terrain and in trenches. Ability to perform strenuous physical labor for extended periods. Ability to wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to safely work around construction equipment and underground utility infrastructure. Working Conditions Primarily outdoor work environments. Exposure to dirt, dust, noise, construction equipment, and varying temperatures. Work may involve trenches, excavation areas, uneven terrain, and active construction sites. May require working extended hours, weekends, or overtime based on project requirements.
Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
