Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools and interpret automotive wiring diagrams to identify issues accurately. Repair and maintain various vehicle systems including powertrain, transmission, suspension, electrical systems, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, wheel alignments, and suspension system repairs to ensure optimal performance. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to execute repairs efficiently and safely. Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex automotive problems on GM vehicles and other makes. Communicate clearly regarding repair needs, estimated costs, and timelines while providing excellent customer service. Document all work performed accurately in service records, including auto estimating details for billing purposes. Requirements Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive repair. Proficiency in automotive diagnostics, including the use of diagnostic tools and understanding of automotive electrical systems. Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems such as powertrain, transmissions, vehicle suspension systems, and diesel engines. Ability to interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics effectively. Hands-on experience with vehicle maintenance procedures like wheel alignment, transmission system repair, and vehicle suspension system repair. Familiarity with welding techniques and auto estimating processes is a plus. Strong customer service skills combined with a commitment to quality workmanship. Valid mechanic license or certification preferred; relevant certifications in automotive repair are advantageous.
