Job Description
Job Overview RJM Auto Repair & Tire is looking for an experienced B-Level Automotive Technician to join our team. We are looking for someone who is dependable, productive, takes pride in their work, and can independently handle the majority of general automotive repair and maintenance. You should be comfortable diagnosing and repairing common mechanical problems without constant supervision while recognizing when a vehicle requires more advanced diagnostic work. Responsibilities Perform maintenance and general automotive repairs independently and efficiently. Diagnose and repair common mechanical vehicle concerns. Perform brake, steering, suspension, cooling system, and HVAC repairs. Perform engine-related repairs including gaskets, timing components, cooling components, and accessory systems within your experience level. Diagnose and repair common starting and charging system problems. Perform alignments and identify worn steering or suspension components affecting vehicle alignment and tire wear. Perform tire installation, balancing, rotation, and repair as needed. Complete fluid services, tune-ups, filters, belts, hoses, batteries, and other preventative maintenance. Perform thorough vehicle inspections and accurately identify needed repairs and maintenance. Use scan tools and service information to assist with diagnosis and repair. Follow manufacturer procedures, torque specifications, and proper repair practices. Clearly document inspection findings, diagnostic results, and completed repairs. Verify repairs before returning vehicles to customers. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Work collaboratively with other technicians and ask for assistance when a problem exceeds your current diagnostic experience. Help maintain the quality and reputation RJM customers have come to expect. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate: Has approximately 3+ years of professional automotive repair experience , or equivalent demonstrated ability. Can independently complete most general repair work from diagnosis through final verification. Has strong mechanical troubleshooting skills. Is comfortable using modern scan tools and digital service information. Understands electrical fundamentals and can diagnose basic electrical problems. Can accurately inspect vehicles without overselling unnecessary work. Works efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship. Takes ownership of mistakes and makes them right. Is dependable and consistently shows up ready to work. Communicates well with coworkers and management. Is willing to learn from more experienced technicians. Takes pride in producing work they would be comfortable putting their own family in. ASE certifications are valued but not required . Demonstrated skill, experience, attitude, and quality of work matter more to us than certifications alone. Compensation & Benefits Compensation will be based on experience, demonstrated skill level, and productivity.
