COST of Wisconsin, Inc.'s Equipment Tech / Mechanic maintains and repairs our fleet of vehicles, small engines, and heavy equipment-to support award‑winning projects across the country.
You Will:

Day Impact:
Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on: Fleet vehicles, small engines, and heavy equipment such as concrete pumps, etc. Engines, brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, exhaust systems, and axles Troubleshoot mechanical issues and determine cost‑effective repair solutions Conduct safety inspections, tests, and certifications Communicate clearly with team members about repair needs, maintenance timelines, and related issues Perform metalwork and fabrication as needed Maintain accurate service logs and equipment records Work safely and efficiently in a fast‑paced shop environment
We Require:
High school diploma or equivalent Mechanical aptitude and hands‑on repair experience Ability to work independently and as part of a team Commitment to safety, quality, and accountability Ability to lift, carry, push, and maneuver equipment safely 2+ years of technical auto or equipment mechanic training Experience with fleet maintenance and/or heavy equipment Computer skills including MS Office and internet search; ability to operate a tablet and scanning tool Ability to operate various trucks; light, medium, and heavy equipment and tools; hand tools; automotive lifts; and hydraulic equipment (for purposes of repair and maintenance) Significant attention to detail and safety standards, procedures, and practices Rapid response, problem identification, and accurate problem solving in emergency repair situations Welding and fabrication skills ideal Forklift operation experience helpful Combined education and experience will be considered. 30; overtime may be required based on workload Shop and yard environments with standard machinery, noise, and air quality Regular standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and bending Regular lifting up to: 70 lbs.
