In this role, you will: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair gas and diesel fleet vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, hydraulic lift gates, and electrical systems. Perform preventative maintenance and inspections in accordance with established maintenance schedules. Clean, inspect, and maintain fleet vehicles to ensure operational readiness. Complete emergency roadside service calls within the service area as needed. Install and remove vehicle decals and replace mechanical components, including motors, pumps, and gearboxes. Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders. Train new drivers and provide guidance to less experienced fleet employees. Operate snow removal equipment and perform de-icing activities during winter weather events. Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety requirements. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Perform other duties as assigned.
Schedule:
8-hour shifts Monday through Friday, with a start time between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Schedule flexibility is required, including travel to other ITU AbsorbTech locations, such as Madison, WI; Neenah, WI; Wausau; and Elk Grove Village, IL, based on business needs.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent with 5-years of fleet, diesel, or automotive maintenance experience required. Technical degree in diesel or automotive technology, Class A CDL, and MIG/TIG welding experience preferred. Experience repairing commercial vehicles and working with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Ability to read technical drawings and operate standard shop equipment and mechanic's tools. Safe driving record required. Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based maintenance systems. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid DOT Medical Card and provide personal hand tools.
