Job Description
The Field Technician w/CDL 3 operates a commercial vehicle and provides delivery and setup of the Company's rental equipment to customer locations. Performs preventative maintenance and service on equipment in the field in a safe and efficient manner. This position also provides training to new employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with ethics, honesty, values, and integrity. Provides a position of professionalism to others.
- Delivers, sets up, swaps, fuels, and performs minor repairs on diesel- and natural gas-powered equipment on customer locations.
- Operates Company commercial vehicles, including tractor trailers and token trailers, and equipment in accordance with policy and safety procedures.
- Maintains and completes required logbooks, DVIR, and all other DOT required forms.
- Performs DOT inspections on equipment.
- Completes starting and charging repairs on ICE (internal combustible engine) powered equipment.
- Performs preventative maintenance and service on equipment.
- Performs diagnosis on field equipment to evaluate the need for further field repair or swap out.
- Uses all electrical tools, safety devices, and equipment in accordance with policy and safety procedures.
- Provides technical assistance to customers and members of Sales team.
- Assists in covering key staffing shortages at the branch as necessary.
- Adheres to all state and federal DOT laws.
- Completes all required monthly safety and equipment-related trainings.
- Answers Company-issued cell phone during on call hours, in accordance with Company and safety policies.
- Any other duty, responsibility or task as assigned by the supervisor.
