Classic Car Restoration Technician / Assembly Mechanic Woody's, Wagens & Classic Cruisers - Sheridan, Wyoming We are looking for an experienced, dependable Classic Car Restoration Technician to join our team. This is not a collision-repair position. We specialize in high-quality classic vehicle restorations, restomods, and custom builds, and we are looking for someone who understands how older vehicles come apart — and, more importantly, how they go back together correctly. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with classic cars and trucks, mechanical systems, suspension, brakes, steering, drivetrain components, disassembly, and final assembly. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, stays organized, keeps a clean work area, works well with others, and has the attitude and work ethic required to produce high-end vehicles. Responsibilities Complete mechanical work on classic cars, trucks, 4x4s, and restomod builds Perform complete vehicle disassembly and organized parts removal Reassemble vehicles during restoration and final build stages Install and repair suspension, steering, brake, and drivetrain components Install engines, transmissions, transfer cases, axles, fuel systems, cooling systems, and related components Install trim, bumpers, glass, weatherstripping, interior components, lighting, and accessories Perform brake upgrades, suspension upgrades, and other aftermarket component installations Diagnose mechanical issues and determine appropriate repairs Make adjustments and modifications required when working with custom or aftermarket components Maintain accurate organization of parts, hardware, and components throughout each build Work closely with body, paint, fabrication, and mechanical departments Inspect completed work and help ensure vehicles meet our quality standards Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area What We're Looking For Previous experience working on classic vehicles is strongly preferred Strong mechanical knowledge and automotive troubleshooting ability Experience with suspension, steering, brakes, drivetrain, and general automotive mechanical systems Experience with complete vehicle disassembly and assembly Ability to understand how mechanical systems and components work together Comfortable working with both original and aftermarket/restomod components Ability to use hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, and automotive lifts safely Fabrication or welding experience is a plus, but not required Custom vehicle or restoration shop experience is a major plus The Type of Person We Want Skill is important, but attitude and work habits are just as important to us. Our shop handles everything from full frame-off restorations and custom builds to mechanical upgrades, suspension, drivetrain, paint, interior, and final assembly. Sheridan, Wyoming Compensation will be based on experience and skill level.
