Job Description

Hiring a full-time Avionics/Wire technician to maintain and modify our fleet of Embraer and Short 312 (A-27) Tucano turbo prop planes. Avionics experience on 1990's aircraft preferred. Knowledge and experience with Garmin installations and troubleshooting required. This position will also include daily line maintenance of turbo prop, fixed wing aircraft based in Mesa, AZ. Must be available to travel 50-75% supporting mission exercises with ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting repairs. Must be able to think on your feet, problem solve situations as they arise and interface effectively with members of management, A&P technicians, and our aircrew. Education and Experience Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Excellent computer skills are also required Working knowledge of Avionics systems and their operation and the proven ability to troubleshoot basic problems 2+ years demonstrated Avionics experience.
Position Purpose:
Under minimal supervision, perform removal/installation of avionics electrical components, fabrication of wire harnesses, installations, modifications, terminations, ring-out, and functional tests of avionics/electrical systems. Additional Requirements Ability to travel up to 75%. Ability to pass a drug screening test. Ability to acquire a secret clearance. Able to pass a background check. Clean driving record and safe driving history.
Job Description Responsibilities and Duties:
New Custom Avionics installations - UHF/VHF radios, Garmin related modules, etc. Perform avionics maintenance functions such as component removal/installation, fabrication/repair of wire assemblies, wire harness removal/installation, and continuity checks. Troubleshoot and repair avionics and electrical systems using current applicable data. Fabricate and install all wiring assemblies and associated avionics equipment. Follow all applicable instructions for continued airworthiness to accomplish a specific task. Perform work within estimated hours. Execute required paperwork in connection with assigned normal duties. Read and interpret avionics schematics and drawings necessary to complete avionics related maintenance tasks.
Additional Functions:
• Properly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools as assigned by Supervisor.
Preferred:
FAA Airframe & Powerplant License (A&P) or Airframe only. Military background PT6 experience preferred Knowledge of weapons systems, ejection seats, and MX-15 sensor systems are helpful Pay is dependent on work experience and knowledge.
