Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Senior Electromechanical Engineer for a top aerospace and defense technology client. This engineer will own the design, analysis, testing, and qualification of complex electromechanical systems for next-generation vehicles operating in space and atmospheric reentry environments. The ideal candidate will combine strong mechanical design and analysis capabilities with practical electrical systems knowledge to develop flight-critical actuators, mechanisms, sensors, avionics packaging, harnessing, and thermal-control solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on engineer to take mission-critical hardware from concept through flight while collaborating across avionics, structures, propulsion, GNC, manufacturing, and vehicle integration teams.   • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • 5+ years of experience designing and testing electromechanical systems for aerospace, defense, or similarly demanding applications
  • Proven delivery of hardware from concept through flight or an equivalent high-stakes deployment
  • Strong mechanical design skills and proficiency with NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar 3D CAD software
  • Hands-on structural and thermal analysis experience using Ansys, Abaqus, NASTRAN, or an equivalent FEA tool
  • Experience designing for vacuum, extreme temperatures, vibration, shock, radiation, and other harsh environments
  • Deep understanding of mechanisms, actuators, fasteners, bearings, seals, and material properties
  • Working knowledge of power distribution, sensors, motor control, and basic circuit design
  • Experience with environmental testing and flight-hardware qualification programs
  • Strong GD&T, engineering drawing, and technical documentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across electrical, mechanical, avionics, structures, propulsion, and GNC teams Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret or Top Secret security clearance
  • Spacecraft mechanism experience involving deployment systems, separation mechanisms, solar-array drives, or gimbal systems
  • Knowledge of spacecraft thermal-control technologies, including heat pipes, radiators, heaters, and multilayer insulation
  • High-reliability or safety-critical design experience involving FMEA, fault tolerance, or redundancy
  • Familiarity with propulsion components such as valves, pressure vessels, feed systems, and fluid interfaces
  • Experience with servo motors, stepper motors, voice-coil actuators, or related motor-control systems
  • Understanding of EMC and grounding or shielding design principles
  • Python or MATLAB proficiency for analysis automation and data processing
  • Aerospace additive manufacturing or advanced manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of radiation effects on materials and electronics
  • Startup or small multidisciplinary team experience Hands-on vehicle integration, launch-site operations, or mission-support experience
