Avionics Technician (Opto-mechanical)

$30.00 - $45.00 / hour Description As an Avionics Technician (Opto-mechanical) at Impulse, you'll be responsible for assembling, inspecting and reworking optical and opto-mechanical assemblies used in low-earth orbit and beyond. Your work will directly impact the reliability and mission success of our Mira and Helios spacecraft. Responsibilities
- Perform opto-mechanical and electromechanical assembly work.
- Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and work instructions
- Use optical metrology tools to check quality of optical assemblies.
- Troubleshoot issues and rework optical assemblies.
- Work with manufacturing engineers to improve assembly rate and efficiency
- Collaborate with engineers and quality assurance on issue resolution, process improvements, and documentation updates.
- Record build data and ensure traceability of parts and workmanship per aerospace standards. Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 4+ years of experience with opto-mechanical assembly, such as assembling and aligning lenses and mirrors.
- 4+ years of experience in a production environment, e.g. in aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics, etc.
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills Preferred Skills and Experience
- 2+ years of experience operating centration machines and interferometers
- 2+ years of experience with adhesives in a production environment
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience working on opto-mechanical assemblies for space applications.
- Electromechanical assembly experience
- Cleanroom experience

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity.
