Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Avionics Lead to oversee and perform avionics maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting on corporate aircraft. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience with Garmin, Rockwell Collins, and Honeywell systems, and demonstrates strong leadership abilities to guide a team of avionics technicians in a fast-paced Part 145/Part 135 environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate avionics maintenance, modifications, and upgrades on corporate aircraft.

Perform troubleshooting, installation, calibration, and testing of Garmin, Rockwell Collins, and Honeywell avionics systems.

Mentor and guide a team of avionics technicians, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to company and FAA standards.

Review maintenance documentation, work orders, and schematics to verify compliance and accuracy.

Ensure proper use of tools, test equipment, and adherence to tool control procedures.

Perform system operational checks and certify work for Return to Service (RTS) when authorized.

Support troubleshooting of in-service issues and provide technical guidance for AOG events.

Maintain compliance with FAA Part 145 regulations, OEM procedures, and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.

Assist with training programs, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives within the avionics department.

Requirements

FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required

Minimum 8+ years of hands-on avionics experience in corporate/business jet environments.

Proven experience with Garmin, Rockwell Collins, and Honeywell avionics systems.

Strong leadership skills with prior experience leading avionics teams or supervising technicians.

Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, AMM, IPC, and engineering orders.

Familiarity with tool control, FOD prevention, and hangar safety practices.

Experience reviewing and signing off on maintenance documentation for accuracy.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, AOG-driven environment.

Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and on-call support.

Preferred Inspection Authorization (IA) or avionics-specific certifications.

Experience with Part 135/145 operations and corporate aircraft such as Gulfstream, Bombardier, Dassault Falcon, Embraer, Cessna Citation, or Hawker.

Familiarity with avionics software updates, database management, and system troubleshooting tools.

Prior involvement in continuous improvement programs, training, and mentoring initiatives.
