$74.19/hour Make Your Expertise Count As a Mass Properties Engineer , you will take a leading role in developing and managing weight control strategies for complex aircraft modification programs. Your work will directly influence aircraft performance, safety, mission effectiveness, and regulatory compliance. From early conceptual studies through aircraft modifications and rapid-response upgrades, you'll provide the mass properties expertise that helps turn ambitious engineering concepts into successful aerospace solutions. What You'll Do As a key member of the engineering team, you will: Lead the development and execution of aircraft weight control plans for large aircraft modification programs Create and maintain mass properties databases to track weight, center of gravity (CG), and balance estimates Generate accurate mass properties estimates using CAD data and engineering models Support conceptual design studies through parametric weight estimation and modeling Plan, coordinate, and support aircraft weighing activities Prepare, author, and maintain weight and balance reports, documentation, charts, and associated forms Analyze mass properties data and communicate results to engineering teams, customers, and suppliers Ensure compliance with industry standards and recommended practices Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and development teams throughout the product lifecycle Support multiple aerospace programs ranging from conceptual development to operational upgrades Provide technical guidance and recommendations on weight management and aircraft performance considerations Required Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline Typically 10+ years of relevant engineering experience Technical Expertise Thorough knowledge of engineering principles and practices Deep understanding of SAWE Recommended Practices RP-7 and RP-8 Experience with aircraft weighing procedures, associated forms, and reporting Expertise in conceptual design support and parametric modeling Experience developing mass properties estimates from CAD data Proven experience authoring weight and balance reports Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary design and development teams Required Skills Weight and Balance Reporting Parametric Weight Estimation Aircraft Weighing Mass Properties Analysis Engineering Principles & Practices CAD-Based Weight Estimation Technical Documentation and Reporting Preferred Qualifications Candidates with the following experience will stand out: Automated Weight and Balance System (AWBS) training completed within the past three years Aircraft Weight & Balance Course (AETC or equivalent) completed within the last three years Familiarity with Commercial Derivative Aircraft (CDA) programs supporting military applications Experience with Dassault 3DX and/or
