Position Title:
Data Acquisition Engineer II Hours:
Monday Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, 40
Hours/ Week Summary of Duties:
Design, implement, and operate data acquisition equipment for testing on Part 23 aircraft. Work with respective engineers to design an instrumentation configuration that meets their test data requirements. Source and participate in the installation of data acquisition equipment. Work with vendors and in-house fabrication shops to fabricate test equipment. Guide the installation of test equipment on test aircraft and perform tests. Provide the data needed to document compliance with the applicable regulations. Determine and develop solutions within schedule and cost objectives. Act as liaison with representatives outside of the assigned group/area. Maintain familiarity with standard industry data acquisition body of knowledge and advancements. Create and maintain related documentation supporting data acquisition processes and requirements. Collaborate with other disciplines and other company support groups. Support the Flight Test Operations department in the preparation of material for technical operations and business presentations and review. Train and assist other employees and provide guidance to technicians involved in the installation of instrumentation and data acquisition equipment.
Qualifications:
The position requires a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or as a Flight Test Engineers, Mechanical Engineer, Systems Engineer, or a related occupation. The position requires three (3) years of experience with the following: Aircraft design, approval, manufacturing, and service; Working near running aircraft for launch, recovery, and troubleshooting; Fabrication and assembly manufacturing processes and techniques; Aviation testing, such as systems, performance, and stability & control testing; Data acquisition; Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. FAA -issued Pilot Certification or Mechanic Certification is required.
