Job Title:
Avionics Technician Job Description This role focuses on completing Garmin avionics installation projects on three aircraft, including a full panel upgrade and engine instrumentation updates. When project work slows, you also support standard maintenance activities across the fleet, ensuring reliable and safe operation of all aircraft systems. Responsibilities Complete Garmin avionics installation projects on three aircraft for a local customer. Perform a full Garmin panel upgrade on a Cessna 550, including removing existing components and installing new Garmin avionics. Gut the existing instrument panel and install new Garmin avionics equipment in accordance with technical specifications and aviation standards. Assist with routing and securing wiring, terminating connections, and performing functional tests on installed equipment. Install Garmin engine instrumentation systems on two additional aircraft, including mounting and configuring interface boxes. Install and connect interface boxes to engine sensors to enable accurate data collection and display. Conduct equipment testing and verification to ensure proper operation of all installed avionics and engine instrumentation systems. Collaborate with other technicians to coordinate tasks, share technical information, and maintain project timelines. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working in hangars and around aircraft, tools, and equipment. Required Skills Minimum of 4 years of hands-on avionics experience. Demonstrated experience with Garmin avionics components. Proficiency in routing, terminating, and testing avionics wiring and connections. Work Environment Work takes place primarily in non-climate-controlled hangars. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., providing regular daytime hours. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of St. Louis, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
