The BFS fleet of CH-47Ds, one UH-60A, and light helicopers are capable of fighting wildfires by either bucket or tank. About the Role The Avionics Specialty Mechanic will be responsible for supporting avionics repairs and maintenance on multiple aircraft platforms during field operations and under a Part 145 repair station. This position is a field position and reports to the Helicopter Program Manager. Travel will be required based on company needs. Requirements What You'll Do Operate within a team environment with the highest level of ethics, integrity, safety and honesty Effectively communicate with team members in areas of technical data, quality conformity, and time management Demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, aircraft blueprints, and schematics Wire, install, test, and verify operation of avionics equipment and accessories; identify and correct electronics failures using hand tools, test equipment, technical documents, and technical reference materials Modify existing wire harnesses and new wire harness fabrication Assure that installations are done in accordance with procedures described in FAA Regulations and manufacturer instructions Use sound judgment and technical aptitude to make good decisions regarding job sequence and techniques, troubleshooting and discrepancy resolution Be able to climb ladders, apply finger and hand dexterity in using hand tools, be able to move around the shop/hangar area and within aircraft continuously throughout the workday Your Required Qualifications Highly skilled avionics technician with a mechanical skill set or a mechanic with a high skill set in avionics Ability to work independently and make economic decisions based on overall company vision and direction Driver's License High level of both verbal and written communication A&P License (Preferred) Benefits Full-time employment with competitive compensation based on experience and credentials.
