KC-135 Join our dynamic aviation maintenance team as a KC-135 Structures Mechanic, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the structural integrity and airworthiness of our fleet. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on military aircraft, utilizing your mechanical expertise and advanced technical skills to perform repairs, inspections, and modifications. You will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting aircraft structures, ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards, and supporting flight line operations with precision and efficiency. Duties Conduct detailed inspections of aircraft airframes, sheet metal components, and structural systems using schematics, technical drawings, and CAD models. Perform repairs, modifications, and fabrications on aircraft structures utilizing hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized industrial tools. Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines to verify dimensions and tolerances. Interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics to troubleshoot issues related to avionics, electrical systems, and mechanical systems. Execute maintenance tasks including assembly/disassembly of structural components, sheet metal fabrication, welding, soldering, and power tool operation in accordance with FAA regulations (Federal Aviation Regulations) and AS9100 standards. Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, ammeters, multimeters, and engineering troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes of structural or mechanical failures. Support flight line maintenance activities by performing structural repairs that ensure aircraft readiness for operational missions. Document all maintenance actions accurately within the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to ensure traceability and compliance. Qualifications Proven experience in aircraft maintenance with a focus on structural systems; military aviation experience is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by electrical experience related to aviation systems. Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, CAD files (including CATIA and AutoCAD), and engineering troubleshooting documentation. Hands-on experience with sheet metal fabrication, welding (including soldering), and the use of precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers. Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing standards such as AS9100 and FAA regulations governing aircraft maintenance. Ability to operate heavy lifting equipment safely along with specialized industrial tools required for aircraft structural repairs. Experience working in an aviation maintenance facility or on flight line operations is highly desirable. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis efficiently under pressure. Excellent hand-eye coordination for working with power tools, torque wrenches, calipers, ammeters, ohmmeters, and other precision instruments.
