Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is seeking an Avionics Inspector to join a premier business aviation MRO and aircraft modification facility in Chattanooga, TN. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring avionics installations, modifications, repairs, and maintenance activities are completed in accordance with FAA regulations, approved technical data, customer requirements, and company quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong aviation background with experience inspecting avionics installations and modifications, interpreting technical data, and ensuring compliance with approved engineering documentation. This role will support a wide range of aircraft alteration projects, including connectivity upgrades, avionics modernization programs, Starlink installations, and other Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) driven modifications. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with long-term growth potential and the ability to obtain a FAA Repairman Certificate through West Star Aviation. Perform quality inspections on avionics installations, repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities Verify completed work complies with FAA regulations, customer requirements, engineering drawings, and approved technical data Review and interpret electrical schematics, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, STCs, and engineering documentation Support inspection activities for aircraft modification programs, including avionics upgrades and connectivity installations such as Starlink systems Collaborate closely with avionics technicians, engineering teams, and production leadership to ensure quality standards are met Inspect both newly installed and modified avionics systems to ensure proper functionality and configuration Document inspection findings and maintain accurate compliance records Identify quality concerns and work with internal teams to drive corrective actions and resolution Assist in obtaining and maintaining FAA regulatory compliance while supporting continuous improvement initiatives We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Skills and Requirements 5+ years of experience as an Avionics Quality Control Inspector or 10+ years of overall aviation experience (10+ specific exp preferred) Experience interpreting and applying: Electrical schematics Wiring diagrams Engineering drawings Technical specifications Military and industry specifications Experience reviewing and interpreting aircraft maintenance manuals and other approved technical data Strong understanding of aviation quality and inspection processes High School Diploma or GED Eligible to obtain a FAA Repairman Certificate Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced maintenance environment Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with technicians, engineering, and quality teams FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License FAA Airframe License FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) Previous experience supporting aircraft modification programs and major avionics upgrades Experience inspecting STC-driven installations and aircraft modernization projects
