Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

Support the integration of avionics systems into new and existing rotorcraft platforms.

Develop and maintain avionics system architectures, interfaces, requirements, and integration plans.

Coordinate with systems, electrical, software, flight controls, test, and manufacturing engineering teams.

Perform requirements analysis and develop system-level requirements and interface specifications.

Support avionics hardware and software integration, verification, and validation activities.

Develop and execute integration and verification test procedures.

Troubleshoot avionics integration issues using laboratory, ground-test, and flight-test environments.

Analyze test results and identify root causes of system or interface problems.

Support integration of flight management systems, navigation, communication, displays, mission systems, sensors, and other aircraft avionics.

Work with suppliers and internal engineering teams to resolve avionics hardware/software interface issues.

Support electrical and data bus/interface integration, including ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, Ethernet and other aircraft communication protocols.

Participate in system design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and program milestone reviews.

Ensure avionics designs and integration activities comply with applicable FAA, military, and company requirements.

Support certification activities and preparation/review of engineering and compliance documentation.

Participate in troubleshooting and resolution of aircraft-level integration problems.

Provide technical support during ground testing, flight testing, and aircraft development activities.

Document technical findings, test results, discrepancies, corrective actions, and verification evidence.

Support configuration management and change-control activities for avionics systems.

Interface with customers, suppliers, program management, and cross-functional engineering teams.

Travel to support aircraft testing, supplier activities, and program integration as required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with commercial rotorcraft, military aircraft, or other aerospace/defense programs.

Experience with ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, CAN, Ethernet, or similar avionics data buses.

Experience with DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, DO-160, or related aerospace standards.

Experience with FAA certification and aircraft compliance processes.

Familiarity with flight controls, mission systems, navigation, communication, displays, sensors, and flight management systems.

Experience with avionics integration laboratories, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), systems integration laboratories (SIL), or aircraft test environments.

Experience using requirements and configuration-management tools such as DOORS, Jama, Polarion, or similar.

Experience with test and instrumentation tools such as LabVIEW, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar.

Experience supporting flight test and aircraft certification activities

Requirements

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Typically 5+ years of experience in avionics, aircraft systems, electrical systems, or aerospace engineering.

Experience with avionics integration, systems integration, verification, and testing.

Experience working with aircraft or rotorcraft avionics systems.

Understanding of aircraft electrical architectures and avionics interfaces.

Experience with requirements management and systems engineering processes.

Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware/software integration issues.

Strong technical documentation and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
