Job Description
OVERVIEW
We're looking for a part-time bike tech who's also comfortable on the sales floor. You'll wrench on our rental and tour fleet, but you'll also help customers, ring up retail sales, and make sure tour groups get checked in and out the door on time. If you'd rather stay in the back and skip the customer part, this isn't the right role. Savannah on Wheels rents bikes, runs guided tours through historic Savannah, and sells new and used bikes including e-bikes. Our shop sits on Hall Street, right next to Forsyth Park, inside the Skylark building. You'll work under our manager and learn our systems from the ground up. We're willing to train the right person. If you're already comfortable with tools, whether that's bikes, cars, or anything else mechanical, you'll pick this up fast.- What you'll do
- Perform flat repairs, tune-ups, and brake/gear adjustments on rental and tour bikes
- Inspect and prep bikes before they go out for rentals and tours
- Help maintain e-bikes as part of our growing fleet
- Greet and assist customers on the sales floor and over the phone
- Ring up retail sales and handle checkout
- Coordinate with guides to get tour groups checked in, fitted, and out the door on time
- Assist with retail bike assembly and repair for customers
- Keep the service area and retail floor organized and stocked
- What we're looking for
REQUIRED
- Comfortable using hand tools and following instructions on repair procedures
- Genuinely enjoys working with people, patient with first-time riders and tourists
- Reliable, on time, able to work independently once trained
- Able to lift and move bikes
PREFERRED
- Prior bike shop or bike repair experience
- Retail or customer service experience
- Familiarity with e-bikes
- Interest in cycling This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling.
