About the Role Are you a dedicated skier or snowboarder who knows gear inside and out? Kelly Canyon Resort is seeking a retail-focused Gear Shop Associate to join our team! You will serve as our resident gear expert—helping local families, night skiers, and seasoned riders select the right outerwear, hard goods, accessories, and apparel. You'll also assist with basic shop tech work like waxing and gear prep.

Key Responsibilities Expert Retail Sales:

Use deep product knowledge to guide guests toward the best outerwear, goggles, gloves, helmets, layers, and gear for their riding style.

Shop Tech Support:

Assist with basic ski and snowboard maintenance (waxing, edge work, setup adjustments). We will train you on our bench, though existing experience or binding certification is a plus!

POS & Cash Handling:

Ring up retail sales, repair work orders, and returns accurately using our Point of Sale system.

Merchandising & Inventory:

Keep the shop clean, stocked, and well-organized, assisting with receiving and tagging new inventory shipments.

Resort Ambassador:

Stay updated on mountain conditions, trail status, and night skiing hours to help inform local riders and families. Qualifications & Requirements Strong Knowledge of Ski and/or Snowboard Gear (Required): You must understand snow sports gear, outerwear specs, goggles, and winter accessories to effectively guide customers. Tech Experience or Certification (Huge Bonus): Prior experience tuning or mounting bindings is a plus, but we are willing to train the right gear-savvy candidate. Certified techs start at higher pay! Upbeat, customer-first attitude with great communication skills. Ability to work peak weekends, holidays, and night-skiing shifts. Physical capability to stand for long shifts and lift up to 35 lbs.
