Job Description

Position Overview Repairs and maintains the mountain bike and BMX inventory. Staff may be assigned to either one mountain bike or BMX area or move equally between all of them. Key Responsibilities Repair and inspect Mountain/BMX bike fleet for program utilization Imparts useful bike care and maintenance knowledge Order materials needed to keep program running safely Monitor inventory of spare parts and repair equipment Insure proper use, security and care of repair parts and repair equipment Assist in the set up and takedown of the SBR mountain bike shop and other facilities Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook Qualifications Minimum age: 18+
Required:
entry level bike mechanic certification or bike shop mechanic experience
Preferred:
Experience maintaining / operating an organized shop Good organizational and communication skills Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening) Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication PhysicalPractical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and bike up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 70 pounds Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record , including height/weight guidelines
