About us Incorporated in 1985, Fountainhead Development, Inc., (FDI), specializes in property management and is the largest privately-owned hotelier in Alaska. Position Title:

Property Maintenance Technician I Summary :

Perform semi-skilled work in the maintenance and repair of a hotel property.

Duties :

Read work orders and/or receive instructions from management to determine work requirements Prioritize, manage and track work flow Operate, inspect and test machinery or equipment Perform minor building and equipment maintenance and repair at the direction of the Maintenance Manager Use hand-tools, precision instruments and power tools Carry and move large objects Shampoo carpets Operate and maintain carpet shampooing machine Use cleaning solutions Use painting tools, paints and stains Sweep and/or shovel exterior walkways and entryways as needed depending on the season Pick up and dispose of litter Perform general grounds and parking lot maintenance Operate company vehicle Communicate with other hotel departments and shifts as needed to meet guest's needs and maintain smooth operation of property functions Keep work areas clean and orderly Assist with luggage and laundry as needed Observe health and safety precautions required to protect people and property Report damage, theft, and found articles to management All other duties as assigned

Education, Knowledge and Skills :

Valid Alaska Driver's License required Current driving record sufficient to meet company insurance standards required Basic knowledge of general tools and use Basic knowledge of general maintenance and repair Previous building maintenance related experience and/or education preferred Basic knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions preferred Able to work independently with minimal supervision Able to work effectively as part of a team Able to complete tasks in a timely manner Customer service skills and knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service, to include assessing needs, meeting quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, to include effectively conveying information to others, and giving full attention to what other people are saying and taking the time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times, taking instruction from multiple sources and communicating with management regarding conflict of priorities Able to lift 60 lbs.
