Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is a hands-on field role responsible for the upkeep, repair, and readiness of properties within an assigned portfolio. This role ensures homes meet Avari's quality and safety standards through routine maintenance, inspections, and responsive issue resolution. The Technician works closely with Property Managers, housekeeping, and field operations teams to keep properties guest-ready and owner-approved, supporting the broader POD with reliable, high-quality maintenance execution. Core Responsibilities Property Maintenance & Repair Perform routine and reactive maintenance across assigned properties, including appliance, cable, and wifi troubleshooting, basic HVAC repair, light plumbing, and general upkeep Respond to maintenance requests and work orders with urgency; ensure timely completion and quality follow-through Identify recurring issues and escalate to the Field Operations Support Manager or Property Manager as appropriate Document all work performed in company systems with clear notes and photos Inspections & Property Readiness Conduct routine and pre-arrival property inspections ;identify areas for improvement and document findings Coordinate with housekeeping and property management to ensure homes meet brand and quality standards prior to guest and owner arrivals Support turnover readiness, punch lists, and preventative maintenance efforts Guest & Owner Support Respond to escalated guest and homeowner maintenance concerns via email, phone, and tickets Meet and maintain Avari service standards and metrics including NPS, unit appearance, and efficiency targets Team Support Assist with housekeeping assignments as needed Provide cross-coverage for team members during high-volume periods Contribute to a collaborative, service-oriented team culture Other duties as assigned Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in property maintenance, facilities, or a related hands-on field preferred Proficient with laptops, tablets, and mobile devices Professional communicator across email, phone, video, and text Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced, high-change environment Strong time management — able to shift priorities and manage interruptions Highly responsive and reliable Strong attention to detail and follow-through Prior housekeeping experience a plus Adheres to all company policies and procedures Workplace Environment & Physical Requirements Ability to work in properties requiring walking, climbing stairs, and physical assessment Regularly push, pull, and lift up to 25lbs; occasionally lift or move up to 50lbs Reach overhead and below the waist; bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and twist as needed Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; ability to conduct in-market property visits regularly Available for evening/weekend work, including early mornings and on-call support as needed Primarily market-based role with field work across assigned properties
