Maintenance Technician Job Description This role focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of industrial equipment in a complex, multi-building plant environment. You will perform both electrical and mechanical work, including troubleshooting 480V systems and 3-phase motors, reading blueprints and schematics, and supporting both older and modern automated equipment. The position requires a well-rounded maintenance technician who can work independently and as part of a team to keep production equipment safe, reliable, and running efficiently. Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair plant equipment across multiple buildings and production areas. Perform electrical troubleshooting on 480V systems, 3-phase motors, and other electrical components. Diagnose and repair mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, chillers, boilers, conveyors, CNC machines, and air handling units. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to plan and execute maintenance tasks. Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Perform corrective maintenance in response to equipment failures and production issues. Carry out reliability testing and inspections to identify potential problems and improve equipment performance. Work with and support Fanuc robots and other automation systems as part of daily maintenance activities. Troubleshoot PLCs and automation controls to resolve equipment and process issues. Collaborate with other maintenance technicians and production staff while also completing tasks independently as needed. Document maintenance activities, repairs, and findings to support ongoing reliability and continuous improvement. Follow safety procedures and best practices when working with electrical, mechanical, and automated systems in a dusty, industrial environment. Essential Skills Proven experience as a multicraft or multi-skilled maintenance technician in an industrial or plant setting. Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including work with 480V systems and 3-phase motors. Hands-on experience with mechanical maintenance and repair of industrial equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical diagrams. Experience with plant maintenance across a variety of equipment types, including conveyors, CNC machines, and air handling units. Capability to perform both preventative and corrective maintenance and support reliability testing. Comfort working with older equipment as well as newer automated systems. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with Fanuc robots and other industrial robots. Experience in hydraulics and pneumatics, including troubleshooting and repair. Familiarity with pumps, chillers, boilers, and related utility systems. Experience with PLC troubleshooting and automation systems; PLC programming knowledge is a plus. Strong general electrical and mechanical aptitude across multiple disciplines. Previous experience in a dusty, heavy industrial environment is beneficial. Comfort working in a large, multi-building campus-style plant. Why Work Here? Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
