Service Technician Modular Buildings and Mobile Office Trailers Job Description This hands-on Service Technician role focuses on inspecting, repairing, and maintaining modular buildings and mobile office trailers to ensure they are safe, functional, and ready for customer use. You will perform a wide range of tasks including carpentry, light electrical work, plumbing, flooring, painting, HVAC maintenance, and general building repairs. Responsibilities Inspect modular buildings and mobile office trailers to assess condition and identify repair or maintenance needs. Repair, refurbish, and prepare modular buildings and mobile office trailers for delivery and customer use. Perform carpentry work such as framing, trim, doors, windows, and interior finishes. Carry out light electrical tasks, including basic repairs and maintenance as needed. Perform plumbing work, including installing, repairing, or maintaining fixtures and lines within units. Support HVAC maintenance activities, including basic inspection and upkeep of heating and cooling systems. Complete painting, flooring, and general building repairs to restore or improve unit appearance and functionality. Conduct move-in and move-out inspections to document conditions and determine required repairs or modifications. Complete customer-requested building modifications according to specifications and quality standards. Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory levels to ensure availability and proper working condition. Ensure all units are delivery-ready by meeting established quality, safety, and cleanliness standards. Accurately complete service documentation, work orders, and related records using basic computer systems. Provide professional customer service in person and over the phone, addressing questions and coordinating service needs. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in the yard, shop, and work areas. Safely operate company vehicles to travel to job sites and perform on-site service and repairs as needed. Follow safety procedures and best practices while working with tools, equipment, and building systems. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize work and meet schedules in a fast-paced environment. Essential Skills High school diploma or GED. Carpentry experience, including hands-on work with building construction, remodeling, or repairs. Ability to perform hands-on building maintenance and repairs across multiple trades, including carpentry, basic electrical, plumbing, flooring, painting, and general construction tasks. Ability to work independently and manage tasks in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer skills to complete service documentation and work orders. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Moody, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
