Job Description

Job Overview Talladega Pattern & Aluminum is a non-ferrous foundry producing aluminum and brass castings for industrial customers. We're a hands-on, tight-knit shop where keeping the equipment running is what keeps the metal pouring. We're looking for an experienced maintenance technician who takes ownership of the plant and knows how to keep an older, hard-working facility in shape. What You'll Do You'll be responsible for keeping our foundry equipment running safely and reliably. That includes troubleshooting and repairing melting furnaces, molding equipment, sand handling systems, shakeout, grinders, saws, air compressors, dust collection, and material handling equipment. You'll perform preventive maintenance on a schedule, respond to breakdowns during production, and work with the production team to minimize downtime. Electrical work (three-phase motors, controls, starters, basic PLC troubleshooting), mechanical repair (bearings, gearboxes, belts, chains, hydraulics, pneumatics), and welding/fabrication for repairs and shop improvements are all part of the job. You'll also help keep the building itself in order — plumbing, lighting, doors, and general facility upkeep — and maintain parts inventory and repair records. What We're Looking For We need someone with at least 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience, ideally in a foundry, metal casting, forging, or similar heavy-industrial environment. You should be comfortable with industrial electrical systems up to 480V and able to read electrical and mechanical drawings. Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics, and MIG/stick welding ability are expected. Experience with furnaces (gas-fired or electric induction), burner systems, or refractory is a big plus. You'll need to be able to lift 50+ lbs, work at heights and in confined spaces, and be comfortable in a hot, dusty foundry environment. A safety-first mindset and a good attitude about jumping in wherever needed matter as much as technical skill. High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications are a plus. Join us as a Maintenance Technician and be part of a dedicated team committed to maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and service quality!
