Pay:
Competitive, based on experience About the Position We are looking for a dependable, skilled, and proactive Property Maintenance Technician to help maintain a professional salon-suite property and a shopping center. This position is ideal for someone who is experienced in general property maintenance, enjoys working independently, takes pride in their work, and can identify and address maintenance issues before they become larger problems. You will be responsible for routine maintenance, repairs, upkeep, and responding to maintenance requests from tenants and property management. Responsibilities Perform general property and building maintenance Respond to tenant maintenance requests and assess issues Handle minor electrical repairs and troubleshooting Perform basic plumbing repairs and troubleshooting Repair or replace doors, locks, hinges, hardware, and other fixtures Perform drywall repairs, patching, caulking, and painting Address lighting issues, including replacing bulbs, fixtures, and minor troubleshooting Perform basic HVAC-related troubleshooting and identify issues requiring a licensed professional Handle general carpentry and repairs Maintain common areas, sidewalks, exterior areas, and other property features Assemble, install, repair, and replace various property fixtures and equipment Help prepare vacant suites for new tenants Assist with move-in/move-out maintenance and repairs Keep maintenance areas clean and organized Coordinate with outside contractors when a repair requires a licensed or specialized professional Maintain basic records of completed work and materials used Respond to occasional urgent maintenance issues when necessary Identify potential safety or maintenance concerns and communicate them to management Perform other general property maintenance duties as needed Qualifications Previous experience in property maintenance, commercial maintenance, facilities maintenance, handyman work, or a related field Strong knowledge of general electrical, plumbing, drywall, painting, carpentry, and building maintenance Ability to troubleshoot problems and determine the appropriate solution Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Reliable, punctual, and responsive Professional and courteous when interacting with tenants Strong attention to detail Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests Must have reliable transportation Must have or be willing to obtain basic tools needed for general maintenance Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors Ability to safely lift and carry materials and equipment as needed Preferred Qualifications Experience maintaining commercial properties or shopping centers Experience with HVAC troubleshooting Experience with doors, locks, electrical panels, plumbing fixtures, and general building systems Experience working with contractors and vendors Ability to handle a wide variety of maintenance tasks without needing extensive supervision Valid driver's license Own transportation and basic tools
