Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and skilled Apartment Maintenance Technician to ensure the optimal operation and upkeep of residential apartment communities. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and enhancing the building's interior and exterior facilities. Your expertise will help create a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents, while demonstrating exceptional customer service and technical proficiency. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills in a dynamic residential setting. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical equipment, and building interior systems to ensure safety and efficiency. Conduct repairs using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics to address issues related to electrical work, plumbing systems, facilities equipment maintenance, and building interior maintenance. Troubleshoot mechanical problems with facilities equipment and perform necessary repairs or replacements. Maintain building interiors through painting, carpentry, and other finishing tasks to uphold aesthetic standards. Supervise or assist with maintenance painting projects and oversee small team activities when required. Use electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters to diagnose issues with electrical circuits and components. Document all maintenance activities accurately in logs or work orders while adhering to safety protocols. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge combined with experience in electrical work, plumbing, HVAC system repair, and facilities maintenance. Proficiency with schematics, technical manuals, and troubleshooting electrical equipment using tools like ohmmeters. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry techniques for various repair tasks. Knowledge of maintenance painting techniques suitable for residential environments. Experience with maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) procedures within residential or commercial facilities. Ability to read technical schematics and understand building interior maintenance requirements. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly in English. Supervising experience or leadership qualities that support team coordination and task delegation.
