Career Description We are looking for self-motivated and safety-conscious candidates who would like to join our production team in our Buckeye, AZ location! employees can earn $80K in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 40-50 hour work week. This includes the base rate, shift differential, overtime, retention and production bonuses. There are additional ways to earn including referral bonuses and mentoring incentives. Position is full-time with benefits!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
- Analyze, troubleshoot and repair equipment - overhead cranes, roll formers, press brakes and resistance welders.
- Assist with the servicing and repairing of more complex equipment.
- Comply with applicable regulations and the department's Safety program
- Perform general building repairs and maintenance
- Perform general trailer and vehicle maintenance on yard equipment- forklifts, yard trucks, and shop vehicles.
- Adhere to safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Regular, reliable, punctual and consistent attendance.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent. Technical school preferred.
- At least 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- At least 1 year of experience in welding and fabricating preferred.
- Knowledge of overhead cranes, bearings, hydraulics, and drives
- Must have low voltage electrical knowledge.
- Experience in operating, troubleshooting and repairing various types of production machinery in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic PLC knowledge/experience.
- Basic automotive/trailer maintenance knowledge.
- Must have basic knowledge of lockout tag out and proper PPE.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Frequent communication with others to exchange information.
- Standing for most of the shift, walking, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Frequent repetition of motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Frequent moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Frequent lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
- Constantly thinking and processing information.
- Constantly maintaining concentration and focus on tasks.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Manufacturing floor with machinery.
- Exposure to airborne particles, loud noises, and extreme heat and cold.
- Use of personal protection equipment is required.
