Job Description
Senior Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Specialist — Food Processing Southland Employment Services, Inc. - 2.9 Bell, CA Job Details $34 - $39 an hour 16 hours ago Qualifications Manufacturing plant facilities maintenance experience Forklift servicing Team leadership Industrial cooling systems Industrial power systems Production troubleshooting Full Job Description Step into Second Shift and Keep a Food Plant Running Strong Our client operates a fast-paced food manufacturing and processing facility in Bell Gardens, CA, producing Chinese and other Asian food products. Growth has created an opening on the second shift for a seasoned maintenance professional who can lead by example and collaborate closely with fellow mechanics. A Day in the Role As the floor transitions to second shift, you'll join a brief handoff with the outgoing team, align priorities, and get to work: Walk the production lines, listening for bearing noise on conveyors, checking punch presses, chillers, and boilers, and confirming sensors and motors are running to spec. Troubleshoot HVAC, refrigeration, and industrial cooling/heating issues; perform freezer inspections, identify alarms, and make on-the-spot repairs to keep inventory protected. Open schematics and blueprints to trace circuits, run conduit and PVC, and safely work with 3-phase systems at 420 V and up to 480 V on AC/DC circuits. Wire new motors into production lines, align shafts and rotors, replace gears and bearings, and install blades with precision to minimize downtime. Diagnose hydraulic and pneumatic faults, service forklifts and reach trucks (maintenance, repair, and operation), and handle facility maintenance tasks as needed. When welding is required, use MIG or stick to complete reliable, clean repairs. Support teammates, share knowledge, and communicate clearly so the entire shift stays productive and safe. What You Bring 6+ years of experience in industrial maintenance within food manufacturing, beverage, or bottling environments. Proven leadership with a collaborative mindset—comfortable supporting a team and partnering with other mechanics. HVAC troubleshooting and repair, plus refrigeration and industrial cooling/heating expertise. Freezer inspection, troubleshooting, and repair capability. Ability to read and interpret blueprints/schematics; experience with conduit, sensors, and PVC work.
