This is a hands-on field position responsible for maintaining the overall condition of our residential properties. The ideal candidate has extensive residential maintenance experience and is comfortable independently handling repairs, troubleshooting maintenance issues, coordinating with vendors when necessary, and ensuring properties remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent organization, and the ability to manage multiple maintenance priorities across a large portfolio. The role involves daily travel to properties throughout Los Angeles, completing scheduled preventative maintenance, responding to service requests, documenting completed work, and communicating with the property management team. Successful candidates are dependable, proactive, detail-oriented, and take pride in delivering quality workmanship while maintaining company standards across all properties. About Gatsby Real Estate Gatsby Real Estate is the property management arm of Gatsby Investment, a Beverly Hills-based real estate investment and development company. Our team manages residential properties throughout Los Angeles, including traditional multifamily communities and shared-living housing. We lease approximately 10+ units per month and continue expanding our portfolio through ongoing acquisitions and development projects. Key Responsibilities Complete scheduled preventative maintenance, including HVAC systems, roofs, gutters, smoke detectors, water heaters, appliances, landscaping, and pest control follow-up Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repair calls Perform general repairs, including plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, carpentry, doors, windows, locks, fixtures, and hardware Conduct routine property inspections and identify maintenance issues before they become larger problems Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors when specialized work is required Take before-and-after photos and document completed work within company systems Maintain organized maintenance records and recurring service schedules Ensure properties remain clean, safe, and well-maintained at all times Communicate repair updates and outstanding maintenance items with the property management team Follow company maintenance procedures and safety standards Assist with unit turns and move-in readiness as needed Qualifications Minimum 3 years of residential maintenance experience Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, painting, carpentry, and general property repairs Experience performing preventative maintenance and routine property inspections Ability to diagnose maintenance issues and complete repairs independently Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to prioritize multiple work orders while meeting deadlines Comfortable working independently throughout Los Angeles properties Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation required Must provide own basic tools and equipment appropriate for residential maintenance Compensation $40-$50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Schedule Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Emergency and after-hours availability for urgent maintenance issues may occasionally be required. Location Based out of our Beverly Hills office with daily travel to properties throughout Los Angeles.
