Responsibilities Perform comprehensive floor cleaning tasks including scrubbing, buffing, waxing, and refinishing to maintain optimal floor appearance and safety. Handle various cleaning duties such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming across different surfaces including carpets and hard floors. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, polishers, carpet extractors, and other janitorial tools efficiently and safely. Use appropriate chemical agents for cleaning and floor care while adhering to safety protocols for handling floor cleaning chemicals and other cleaning agents. Conduct heavy lifting activities involving moving furniture or equipment as needed for thorough cleaning or maintenance purposes. Apply environmentally friendly cleaning practices by following proper disposal procedures for chemical agents and waste materials. Collaborate with team members to ensure all areas meet cleanliness standards and assist with special projects like floor refinishing or detailed carpet cleaning when required. Skills Proven experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services with a focus on floor care. Proficiency in using various cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, buffers, waxers, and carpet cleaning machines. Strong knowledge of floor scrubbing, buffing, waxing, and refinishing techniques. Ability to handle chemical agents safely while understanding proper storage and disposal procedures. Physical stamina for manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting, moving furniture, or equipment setup. Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when necessary.
