Job Description

We are seeking a Traveling Maintenance Mechanic to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment and facility systems at multiple job sites. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, safe work practices, and the ability to work independently while communicating clearly with site contacts and supervisors. Key Responsibilities Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain mechanical equipment and facility systems, including motors, pumps, compressors, drives, and related components. Diagnose electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues within training and authorization. Perform preventive maintenance and identify developing issues to help reduce equipment downtime. Respond to urgent breakdowns, assess repair needs, and coordinate priorities with site contacts and supervisors. Record work performed, parts used, findings, and follow-up recommendations in the maintenance work order system. Prepare and maintain tools and parts for service visits, and follow required safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, PPE, and applicable sanitation standards. Required Qualifications 3-4 years of maintenance or mechanic experience in manufacturing, production, industrial service, or a comparable environment. Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and experience with electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems. Ability to read technical manuals, drawings, and schematics and safely use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment. Valid driver's license, ability to meet applicable driving requirements, and reliable travel to assigned job sites. Computer and mobile device skills for maintenance records and communication. Ability to prioritize assignments and work with limited on-site supervision. Preferred Qualifications Experience with bakery, commercial kitchen, food processing, packaging, or conveyor equipment; PLC/HMI troubleshooting; welding or fabrication; refrigeration or boilers; and MaintainX or similar maintenance software. Forklift or scissor lift certification is a plus. Travel and Schedule Travel to multiple job sites is required. Must be available for varied shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and urgent service calls based on business needs. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, including extended standing and walking; bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, and climbing stairs or ladders; regularly lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Work may involve hot, cold, wet, or noisy environments and active production areas.
Pay:
$30.00 - $35.00 per hour
