Facilities Maintenance Technician

Job Overview Key Responsibilities Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs at Watersavers branches and office locations. Inspect facilities, equipment, fixtures, and building systems to identify maintenance or safety concerns. Maintain landscaping and irrigation systems at all store and branch locations to ensure a clean, professional appearance. Troubleshoot and repair basic building systems, including electrical, plumbing, lighting, mechanical, painting, and vehicles, within your qualifications. Complete general facility work, including painting, patching, hardware replacement, shelving installation, and minor carpentry. Keep all interior and exterior areas safe, clean, and functional, including warehouses, offices, and conference rooms. Respond promptly to maintenance requests, prioritizing work based on urgency, safety, and operational impact. Travel regularly between Bay Area locations spanning from San Jose to Petaluma, using and maintaining the assigned company van and tools responsibly. Coordinate with approved contractors and vendors for specialized repairs beyond the position's scope. Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, materials, work orders, and completed maintenance. Monitor parts and supply inventory, communicating replacement needs proactively. Follow company procedures and all applicable workplace health and safety requirements. Communicate clearly with branch managers and employees regarding work status, access needs, and repair timelines. Assist with facility improvements, equipment installation, and other projects as assigned.
Qualifications Core Requirement:
Requires proven, hands-on experience with landscaping and irrigation systems.Strict Requirement:
Valid CA driver's license and clean driving record (e.g., No DUIs).Experience:
4 years in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, construction, property maintenance, or a related field. References required.Technical Skills:
General repair experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical systems, and landscaping.Equipment Knowledge:
Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, ladders, and common maintenance gear.Core Abilities:
Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose issues, determine practical solutions, and work independently.Soft Skills:
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, time management, professional communication, and customer service.Logistics:
Ability to manage multiple service requests across various locations.Education:
Relevant trade education, licenses, or certifications.Physical Requirements Labor:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneeling, climb, reach, and work in varied positions for extended periods.Lifting:
Ability to safely lift and carry tools, materials, and equipment.Environments:
Comfort working in diverse environments, including ladders, warehouses, offices, retail areas, utility spaces, and outdoor settings.Travel:
Ability to drive for extended periods and travel regularly between Bay Area locations.Schedule:
