Job Title:
Maintenance Technician Job Description This role focuses on maintaining, upgrading, and repairing production machinery in a high-volume beverage manufacturing facility. You will support seasonal production by performing preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on processing equipment, bottle filling machines, and plastic blow molding equipment. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, basic electrical troubleshooting, and the ability to keep equipment running safely and efficiently across multiple product lines. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on processing equipment, bottle filling machines, and plastic blow molding equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on production machinery, including identifying root causes such as faulty sensors and understanding how they affect machine performance. Conduct light electrical troubleshooting, including changing motors, checking wiring, and addressing basic electrical faults related to production equipment. Carry out MIG welding on stainless steel and carbon steel components as needed to support equipment repair and fabrication. Work with hydraulics and pneumatics systems, including troubleshooting and repairing related components on production machinery. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot centrifugal and positive displacement pumps used in the production process. Use hand tools and power tools such as grinders and drills to perform maintenance, repairs, and fabrication tasks. Safely operate a forklift when moving equipment, parts, or materials as required for maintenance activities. Support the maintenance and operation of packaging equipment, including fillers, case packers, and conveyors, with a focus on bottling and blow molding machinery. Respond to emergency breakdowns to quickly restore equipment to service and reduce production interruptions. Comply with OSHA health and safety rules and follow all plant safety procedures and guidelines. Maintain a clean, organized work area by performing tasks such as sweeping, cleaning up, and organizing tools and parts. Assist with bottling, filling, packaging, and other production-related tasks when needed to support overall operations. Complete assigned maintenance work orders and projects to prepare machinery for the production season. Perform other duties as assigned to support the maintenance department and production teams. Essential Skills Proven experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably within the beverage industry. Mechanical and electrical maintenance experience with production equipment, including fillers, case packers, and conveyors. Hands-on experience with bottle filling machines and plastic blow molding equipment or closely related machinery. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues, including sensor-related faults. Ability to perform light electrical troubleshooting, including changing motors and working with basic wiring. Proficiency in MIG welding on stainless steel and carbon steel components. Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics systems in an industrial setting. Knowledge of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps and their operation and maintenance. Skilled in the safe use of hand tools and power tools such as grinders and drills. Forklift experience and ability to safely move equipment and materials. Willingness to work any shift during the production season, including first, second, and third shifts. Ability to comply with OSHA health and safety rules and adhere to plant safety standards. Strong troubleshooting skills for both mechanical and basic electrical issues on production equipment. Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting components, and working around large machinery. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in beverage production environments such as juice manufacturing, wineries, dairies, or similar operations. Hands-on experience with bottling and blow molding equipment, which is highly preferred for this role. Experience working on packaging equipment, including fillers, case packers, and conveyors. Experience supporting multiple product lines on high-speed bottle filling and molding machines. Flexibility to work extended hours and additional days during the peak harvest season. Comfort working across multiple departments such as juice extraction, processing, filling, and plastics. Strong sense of ownership and willingness to grow within the maintenance team through ongoing training. Ability to work collaboratively with production and maintenance teams in a fast-paced environment. Why Work Here? Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
