The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the proper operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment in a corrugator plant. This role performs preventative maintenance, diagnoses mechanical issues, and makes necessary repairs to minimize downtime and ensure the efficient functioning of the production line. Machinery Maintenance Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment per established schedules Conduct inspections to proactively identify potential issues Diagnose mechanical problems using diagnostic equipment and troubleshooting techniques Repair or replace defective parts to restore machinery to optimal condition Collaborate with maintenance team members on complex or critical equipment issues Emergency Repairs Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns or malfunctions to minimize downtime Troubleshoot mechanical failures and implement effective solutions Prioritize urgent repairs based on production schedules and operational needs Maintain stock of essential spare parts and supplies for rapid repairs Safety and Compliance Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures Identify and address safety hazards associated with machinery and equipment Follow regulations and guidelines related to equipment maintenance and operation Participate in safety training and promote a safety-first culture Documentation and Reporting Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used Document equipment modifications or upgrades for future reference Report significant issues or concerns to the maintenance supervisor or plant manager Provide input for improving maintenance procedures based on experience and observations Team Collaboration Communicate effectively with maintenance personnel and production staff Coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules to minimize disruption Assist colleagues with troubleshooting and problem-solving Foster a collaborative, supportive maintenance team environment Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training preferred Proven experience as a maintenance mechanic in an industrial/manufacturing setting Proficiency diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems Familiarity with corrugator plant equipment (conveyors, presses, cutting machines) Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Good communication and interpersonal skills Flexibility to work varying shifts and respond to emergencies outside regular hours Work Environment Manufacturing floor environment; exposure to noise, heat, and machinery. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and use required PPE.
