Maintenance Mechanic We are a food processing facility that is seeking an experienced maintenance mechanic for its Plant here in Fresno. This candidate shall provide for efficient operations by performing all activities in regards to plant maintenance, which includes troubleshooting, repairs, morning start up, boiler start up, welding/fabrication, and other maintenance duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Perform maintenance on all equipment and work to make timely repairs to equipment breakdowns., including programming and troubleshooting of metal detectors, ink jet systems, labelers, and other programmable devices. 2. Read and understand mechanical specifications and operational manuals to ensure knowledge and the applicability to company machinery. 3. Ensure a strong understanding of the chemicals and products used within the facility, including knowledge of the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and where they are located for quick reference. 4. Participate in discussions with outside contractors 5. Perform repairs as required for correcting any aspects of equipment and facilities that are cited by inspection. 6. Stays informed of all technological advancements and developments in the plant maintenance field, and makes certain that all maintenance personnel are aware of latest changes. 7. Maintain rapport with all production personnel and assist them in monitoring equipment operation to anticipate equipment malfunctions. 8. Perform preventative maintenance as necessary, including lubrication schedules and ensure inventories are maintained to coincide with schedules. 9. Provide feedback for improvements in equipment operating procedures and equipment design as appropriate to improve production rates, reduce waste, reduce maintenance and simplify the work of others. 10. Ensure that all critical and sensitive systems and controls are properly monitored as scheduled and all abnormalities are reported to the Operations Manager or other responsible person immediately.
Qualifications:
1) High School diploma or GED 2) Must have the ability to read, speak, write in the English language 3) Minimum 5 years experience working in maintenance and working with equipment special to the production environment 4) Understanding of electricity, heating/cooling systems, ventilation and plumbing 5) Knowledge of safety codes and regulations 6) Must have operational knowledge of all equipment and machinery, including: pumps, fans, pneumatic controls, and all other company machines/equipment, including boilers/boiler maintenance and daily start up and proper blow down procedures. 7) Experience in reading blue prints, electronic readings, schematic circuit boards, and PLC's. 8) Experience in the changing of bearings in motors and seals in pumps. 9) Experienced welder and fabricator of all kinds of metals. 10) Experience in running pipe. Both electrical conduit and galvanized and mild steel. 11) Must have forklift experience. 12) Knowledge of computers 13) Ability to meet deadlines Strong communication and interaction skills
Pay:
$25.00 - $43.27 per hour
