Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Mechanic with expertise in electrical systems and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) troubleshooting to join our team in the food manufacturing industry. This role is critical to ensure the reliable operation, safety, and efficiency of our production equipment and facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical maintenance, combined with electrical knowledge and hands-on experience working with PLC-controlled machinery. You will be responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnosing equipment issues, and implementing solutions to minimize downtime while maintaining compliance with food safety and quality standards. Supervise and direct activities of employees in Maintenance department (facilities and processing equipment) Lead the team to establish and improve equipment maintenance processes, including preventative inspection, corrective repairs, and overhaul planning/execution Oversee maintenance, repairing of machinery and equipment in the facility and processing lines to ensure safe and successful operations Lead the project team to perform successful installation and commissioning Oversee the dismantling or repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment used in the production processes Manage the implementation and enforcement of department SOP's for standardized work Monitor the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary Inspect and audit completed work for conformance and compliance and suggests improvement ideas Responsible for the implementation of Preventative Maintenance program, work order program and ensure that all personnel follow its guidelines Manage capital projects including new lines, process design improvements, innovations Create and maintain a productive, safe work environment, including implementing and retaining all company mandated safety-related training and assessment Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related technical field is required 5 plus years of maintenance experience in Food manufacturing or Packaging preferred Strong technical understanding of equipment and maintenance operations and trouble-shooting skills Ability to work under tight timelines and deliver high-quality results. Electricity/PLC knowledge Knowledge of Computer Skills (Excel & Word) Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to provide leadership and development to team to achieve objectives and grow their skills Join our team as a Maintenance Technician to play a vital role in maintaining the safety and efficiency of our facilities.
